Submission Guidelines
1. Aim and Scope
The Nāgānanda International Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (NIJHSS) is a peer-reviewed international journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research in the fields of:
- Humanities (History, Archaeology, Philosophy, Literature, Religious Studies, Linguistics, Cultural Studies, etc.)
- Social Sciences (Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Economics, Education, Geography, Communication Studies, etc.)
- Interdisciplinary research integrating Humanities and Social Sciences.
The journal welcomes theoretical, empirical, methodological, and review-based contributions that advance scholarly knowledge at national and international levels.
2. Types of Manuscripts Accepted
NIJHSS accepts the following categories:
- Original Research Articles (6,000 – 8,000 words)
- Review Articles (5,000 – 7,000 words)
- Short Communications (3,000 – 4,000 words)
- Book Reviews (1,000 – 1,500 words)
- Conference Reports (by invitation only)
Word count includes references, tables, and figures.
3. Manuscript Preparation Guidelines
3.1 Language
- Manuscripts must be submitted in clear, grammatically correct English.
- Either British or American spelling is acceptable, but consistency must be maintained throughout the manuscript.
3.2 Formatting Requirements
- Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
- Line spacing: 1.5
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
- Alignment: Justified
- Page numbers: Bottom center
- File format: MS Word (.doc/.docx)
4. Structure of the Manuscript
Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:

- 200 – 250 words
- Should include: background, objective, methodology, key findings, and conclusion

5. Citation and Referencing Style
NIJHSS follows APA 7th Edition referencing style.
In-text citation examples:
- (Berkes, 2000)
- (Berkes et al., 2000)
- According to Madduma Bandara (1985)…
Reference list example:
Berkes, F., Colding, J., & Folke, C. (2000). Rediscovery of traditional ecological knowledge as adaptive management. Ecological Applications, 10(5), 1251–1262. https://doi.org/xxxxx
All references cited in text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.
6. Tables, Figures, and Illustrations
- Must be numbered consecutively (Table 1, Figure 1, etc.)
- Provide clear titles and sources (if applicable)
- Images must be high resolution (300 dpi minimum)
- Authors are responsible for obtaining copyright permission where required
7. Ethical Considerations
- Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
- All submissions will be screened for plagiarism (maximum similarity index: 15%, excluding references).
- Authors must disclose any conflict of interest.
- Research involving human participants must indicate ethical clearance.
8. Peer Review Process
- NIJHSS follows a double-blind peer review process.
- Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two experts.
- Review process duration: approximately 4 – 8 weeks.

9. Copyright and Licensing
- Authors retain copyright.
- Upon acceptance, authors grant the journal the right of first publication.
- Articles may be published under a Creative Commons license (if applicable).
